Is your view held before the view that you held now?
Is it a view of morally wrong, or just a view of less preferred? And if you become that less preferred, do you take on willingly the consequences that follow as if you were being judged by yourself?
Consistency is credibility, and credibility is proof of a stable moral system, and that proof is a sufficient defense to moral right.
You can become enlightened at any time and change your action to fit, but only you know if you are symmetric in body and mind, and others can only judge you by what you put forth.
